Multi-directional die forging hydraulic press technology breakthrough in China

Recently, China's 22nd Metallurgical Group Co., Ltd. undertook the development of a multi-directional die forging hydraulic press, a major technological innovation project in Hebei Province.

The large multi-directional die forging hydraulic press is a key support development product in China's equipment manufacturing industry adjustment and revitalization plan, and it is also the most critical technology equipment in China. The project successfully applied the pre-stressed steel wire coiling method to the development of large-scale multi-directional die forging hydraulic presses to form a complete set of ultra-conventional heavy-duty equipment manufacturing technology and achieved a technological breakthrough in the manufacture of multi-directional die forging hydraulic presses. It is reported that the main innovations of this project include the invention of orthogonal pre-stressed structural technology, in-situ installation and manufacturing of super-large equipment, and so on. The first batch of domestic precision forgings produced by multi-directional die forging hydraulic presses can be molded once in a single pass. The internal metal flow lines are continuous, uniform in deformation, and the microstructure is fine. Compared with ordinary forgings, the tensile performance is improved by 24.3% and the elongation is increased by 87.3%.
