Norwegian Optimarin receives order for ballast water treatment system from accommodation vessel
It is reported that Norwegian ship service company Østensjø Reder has selected Norwegian ballast water treatment expert Optimarin to install the ballast water treatment system OBS for the single accommodation ship "Edda Fides". 
In 2015, Optimarin successfully installed a ballast water treatment system for another company of the company, the "Edda Fortis".
Currently, the accommodation boat "Edda Fides" is being operated by Edda Accommodation, a subsidiary of Østensjø Reder, which has 600 beds and a deck area of ​​1,400 square meters. It also has advanced offshore cranes and helicopter decks.
The OBS system is being shipped to Galveston, USA, and will be installed on board at the end of the first quarter of this year.
It is understood that Optimarin's OBS system has been fully approved by IMO and certified by DNV GL, British Labor, France, the United States and other classification societies, and is expected to receive approval from the US Coast Guard this fall. Optimarin has sold 370 OBS units involving more than 270 installations, including Saga Shipbuilding, MOL, Grieg Shipping Group, Farstad Shipping, Atlantic Tanker, NYK, Nor Line and Evergreen Marine. Not long ago, Optimarin was selected by Atlantic Tanker to install ballast water treatment systems for 10 vessels.
