On the morning of January 15, Tim Solso, president of Cummins Inc. of the United States, braved the drizzle and came to Shanghai Fleetguard. Along with the same inspection, Cummins East Asia president and Cummins Filtration System Director of East Asia, Operations Director, etc. Zhou Xiaofu, general manager of Shanghai Fleetguard, and Luo Zhihui, deputy general manager of the company, accompanied Dim Solsoe’s president to parallax the laboratory, quality inspection room, and production site.
After the inspection, Mr. Dim Sorriso went to the training room to participate in the mini-meeting. The managers of the foreman, supervisor and manager gave warm applause for the arrival of Dim Solso.
Mr. Dim Solso is pleased to congratulate everyone on a happy New Year. He said that I am very honored to come to Shanghai Fleetguard again to come to see you. I just came to the production site and I feel very good. The last time the new production line was not launched, I had a meeting with all the staff at the production site. Now that we have a new production line, the production is very busy, and there is not such a large venue to meet all the staff. You have a new office building, which shows that Shanghai Fleetguard’s business is continuously growing. Last year, Cummins’ total sales amounted to RMB1.7 billion (US$), including one of your achievements. Cummins currently has five factories in China, including three diesel engine plants. Since the last time, Cummins has had several joint venture projects in China, such as Putian and Shaanxi Auto, and Wuhan has built an R&D center. In the global Cummins system, China is the largest developing country, and no country can compare with it. Cummins has spotted China as an important market and opportunity, and continued to invest and develop.
Dim Solso stressed the safety issue. He said that I only accept safety incidents as 0, and everyone has safety responsibilities. Cummins demanded the best safe operating environment. He appealed to everyone to pay attention to their own operational safety and surrounding safety, and discovered that there were unsafe hidden dangers to be reported in a timely manner. Cummins requested safety production for all factories.
Dim Solso congratulated Shanghai Fleetguard on his achievements in 2007, and he felt that the company was very promising. On behalf of all senior Cummins officials, he expressed his gratitude to Shanghai Fleetguard Co., Ltd. and also thanked the customers for their efforts.
