Shanghai Institute of Metrology takes the lead in the acceptance of the AQSIQ science and technology project

The project of the AQSIQ Scientific and Technological Planning Project “The Impact of the WTO/TBT Working Principles on the Typical Measuring Instruments Market in the Measurement Industry and Countermeasures” (Project No. 2015QK043) was successfully accepted by the experts. China is a major producer and exporter of measuring instruments. In recent years, with the development of foreign trade in measuring instruments in China, trade frictions have been aggravated and technical trade barriers have gradually emerged. In order to improve the manufacturing level and quality level of China's measuring instruments, protect the market of China's measuring instruments, and improve the international competitiveness of China's measuring instrument industry, we must conduct research on the WTO/TBT working principles to enhance China's ability to respond to technical trade barriers and promote China's measurement instruments. Industrial development. Within two and a half years, the project team analyzed the causes, main manifestations of technical barriers to trade and their impacts on the import and export of measuring instruments and their mechanisms of action. Taking six types of typical measuring instruments such as electric energy meter, gas meter, water meter, pressure gauge, heat meter and weighing instrument as examples, the impact of the WTO/TBT working principle on the measurement industry was studied, and countermeasures for the measurement industry to deal with technical trade barriers were proposed. At the same time, he wrote “China Gas Meter Industry and Market Analysis Report”, “China Heating Metering Industry and Market Analysis Report” and “China Electric Vehicle Charging Measurement Industry Market Survey Report”, which provided technology for measurement instrument manufacturing industry to deal with technical trade barriers. References provide the basis for government departments to formulate relevant policies.
The project fills the gap in the domestic measurement instrument manufacturing industry's response to the impact of technical barriers to trade, will effectively promote the quality of China's measuring instrument products, help China's export of measuring instruments and products along the “Belt and Road” countries, and accelerate China’s manufacturing of large measuring instruments.
