At the same time, the calcium carbide industry should speed up restructuring and enhance its competitiveness.
China's relatively rich coal, oil, gas, and energy structure determines that the calcium carbide industry is an indispensable part of China's chemical industry and will play an important role in ensuring the sustainable development of downstream industries. When talking about the future development of the calcium carbide industry, Sun Weishan said, first of all, the industry should optimize the organizational structure, carry out the optimization and reorganization of calcium carbide enterprises, and form a large group of upstream and downstream companies that integrate calcium carbide and acetylene chemicals. At present, there are 413 household appliances companies in China. By the end of 2009, the total production capacity reached 23.86 million tons and the output was 15.03 million tons. The average household appliance company's capacity is less than 60,000 tons, and its output is less than 40,000 tons. It is necessary to solve the small and scattered problem of the calcium carbide industry through large-scale production. Secondly, accelerate the advancement of large-scale, closed, standardized and automated carbide furnaces. After the use of a large enclosed calcium carbide furnace, the tail gas can be comprehensively utilized to produce chemical products. After the automatic continuous furnace is released, the heat can be reused, which can solve 15% of the electric energy in the industry. At present, there are many domestic calcium carbide furnace design units, but there is no uniform standard, which is very unfavorable to the development of the industry. Once again, the sustainable development of the calcium carbide industry requires the continuous development of new applications and the diversification of downstream products.
In recent years, the calcium carbide industry has stepped up its efforts to eliminate backward production capacity. By the end of 2009, it has cumulatively eliminated 2.31 million tons of backward production capacity, exceeding the target of the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan”. On August 8, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the list of enterprises that eliminated the backward production capacity of the calcium carbide industry, which involved 794,700 tons of production capacity of 39 companies. If we add the production capacity that we have eliminated, we will eliminate more than 1 million tons of backward production capacity in the calcium carbide industry this year. This will further promote the overall technical level of the calcium carbide industry and help reduce the overall energy consumption.
